First, You must understand how much you need Jesus.
Only in Him will you find true fulfillment and meaning:
In this life everyone is seeking fulfillment and meaning. We strive to be successful at work, in school, and with our families. We build security and comfort by growing our bank accounts and buying the next best "thing". We plan vacations, trips, and outings, all seeking to make the most of this life. Yet in the end, is this are only purpose on this earth? For many, they may have gained the whole world but feel as if they have lost their soul. This is because our creator designed us to know and serve Him. The first of the famous Ten Commandments tells us to put nothing before God. Jesus himself said that the greatest commandment was to, "love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." We cannot ever truly be fulfilled apart from putting the Lord first.
Without Him, you stand guilty before God:
Though we were created to know and serve God, that relationship has been broken. Romans 3::10-12 says, "None is righteous, no, not one; no one understand; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." Verse 23 of the same chapter goes on to say, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 then says that "the penalty for sin is death." If we are honest, the darkness down deep in our own hearts proves what the Bible says is true. We have horrible thoughts all the time. We are good at masking it but there is evil in all of us. The truth is we deserve to go to Hell. We desperately need Jesus to save us.
